PRLog (Press Release)Jun 30, 2011 – Today, 30th June 2011, information security website, InfoSec Reviews (http://www.infosecreviews.com) officially launches in the UK. Site founder, Dave Raimbach says, “InfoSec Reviews was conceived from an obvious need in the general marketplace for fully independent, professional critique of books, products and services, especially as it is less easy to fully trust what you read on sites that provide anonymity for their reviewers, such as Amazon.” Mr Raimbach went on to discuss various ways in which vendors are increasing the number of positive reviews on various market outlets, raising their average and masking the negative reviews that true independent buyers might have posted. Similarly, as there is little to no governance over the reviews posted on these sites, it’s easy for a disgruntled buyer to give a bad review, unfairly dragging down the overall score, yet complaining more about shipping or the colour of the cover than reviewing the content or the functionality. “All of our reviewers are hand picked by our editorial staff,” continued Raimbach, “and their real names and credentials are posted at the top of every review. This should give the reader confidence that the critique is as accurate and objective as it can be.”

InfoSec Reviews launches today with twelve of the latest information security books already thoroughly reviewed on the site, as well as two professional training courses, but dozens more are in production and will be published over the coming weeks and months. InfoSec Reviews has direct relationships with practically the entire book-publishing world (related to information security) and will be expanding into products and services very soon.
